Holy shit, Standard Time

... get in the car, it's dark.

I left work very early yesterday - the freeway home was blocked, so I drove surface and allowed extra time. Good thing, too, it took me an entire hour to get home. (Normal time 1/2 hour, at speed.)

I left at about a quarter to 6 today, and it was stone dark. Surprised me.

No listening to the radio here until the California polls close. I am on as much of a media fast as I can manage. (I had to stick my fingers in my ears at work and ask my cube neighbors nicely to take it somewhere else.) Fortunately for me the Nipper was talking about the Minnesota senate race when I walked in the door, so I turned off the radio.

A little late with this, but ...

I think that themagdalen should be informed of what is lurking near her husband's office.

Ten more minutes

till the polls close here and I allow myself to turn on the radio. It's at the point, I think, where I can't read the f-list. I had an appointment between 7-8 this evening so I thought I was covered for the last of my "media fast", but it got cancelled.

I have Anchor Steam and Goldfish, my favorite "nail-biting" snacks. I think I'll have a wee bit of dinner, though, and see where Maggie has gotten herself off too.

As a note, I drove by my polling place (I already voted) and even in my tiny, out of the way polling place there were two people with "No on 8" signs on the street. I honked and waved.
